I am your star
and as I've hung here in the sky
For all these years I've wondered why
I am so far from you.

And as I missed you
Though I'd never met you
The LORD kept whispering love
Into my star shine.

I shined for Him
Daily I got brighter.
A diamond glitter in his crown,
Set a-sparkle by his love.

But still I missed you
Though I'd never met you
And the LORD kept whispering love
Into my star shine.

One day you saw me radiant,
Ablaze with glory,
You built a ladder of love,
And climbed it boldly.

And when I saw you,
Though I'd never met you,
I whispered to the LORD
"Could he be mine?"

You reached out strong hands,
Hands that God made
You held the heavens for a moment
And kissed your star.

And all the whispers
While I'd never met you,
Were embodied and given life
In a single kiss.

And I began to shine,
Brighter than ever,
For the whispering LORD,
for love, for you.

How could I know
What it was to be loved by you
If the LORD had not
kept whispering love
Into my star shine.
