I am declaring Isaiah 55:11 over my life in the name of Jesus today: "so it is with my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Today God has given me SUCH opportunities to share the WORD!! I declare that it will not return to Him empty, that it will achieve the purpose for which it was sent.
Firstly, as I strode into school on Tuesday morning, clutching my father's (1978) edition of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, I was strongly, keenly aware of the fact that I was holding the gospel according to CS Lewis, one of the most prominant and clever Christian writers of our time. I have read this to children at my previous school, and they, as children often are, were open to the truths theirin. Children are so much more open to the Gospel, not because they are more gullable or easy to brainwash, but because they are less tainted by the world, and therefore closer to the Spiritual realm than we realise. One of the many reasons why I have such an affinity for them. I never "preached" to them in class, because it's against the laws in Britian, but if I was asked direct questions (as I often was when they found out I was a Christian!) I answered the best I could, and who knows, God's word never returns empty, maybe something I've said will stick with one of them and years later they might come to know the Lord for themselves and of their own choosing.
I've only just started reading The Chronicles to my class today, I would love for you to pray that not only they would enjoy the book (one of the greatest works of children's fiction after all!!), but that it would speak to them, in the place where they need God most. That God's word would not return empty.
In another amazing turn of events my three closest friends at school and I were in the pub, and somehow (although I MAY just have prayed for opportunities in the past!) the conversation turned to Christianity, and they quite literally put me in the hotseat and asked me loads of genuine interested questions. It wasn't the usual asking to catch me out, they were genuinely wanting to know what I believed and listening to my answers! One of the questions they asked was "do you believe that all poeple who don't believe in Jesus go to Hell, even the good people?" Man that was hard to answer! I said yes, and answered in the same way, honestly, to a host of other difficult questions, but questions that are central to my beliefs. I even told them the gospel!
Wow, LORD, I asked you to use me, and you are. I declare that your word will not return to you empty, and ask for more such opportunities. Be my words, be my voice.
Let your kingdom come.
