...Realisation

I am home!

Home is where the heart is they say, and here, with these people who are mine and who I belong to, truly, is my earthly home. I love them so much.

It's amazing how much more you learn to appreciate people when you've been apart for long periods of time. You come to forget how fantastic the banter is, how much we tease and how much we laugh. Oh, we laugh so very much.

And as I've had time alone... more than in a whole year (crazy how things work out) I've had time to ponder God's grace towards me, and my next steps on this journey we call life... and have I done it? NO, I'm ashamed to say, the emphatic and conviction filled answer is NO. No over-spiritual essays this time, no tales of how I overcame the evil one. I'm filling my time with TV, books (albeit Christian books and the Bible), people and play. But meditation? Quiet contemplation? Resting in God's holy prescence? Not once...

Here's a realisation that precedes action. This is the time God has given me for renewal: physically, mentally, emotionally but most of all spiritually. I must take it in both hands and move further up and further in with Him. And, paradoxically, as so many things are with Him (great sense of humour hasn't He, our Lord?) this requires me to do NOTHING.

Just to be. With Him. Resting.
